Amicale grinds out three points

Amicale FC of Vanuatu beat AS dragon of Tahiti 1-0 in the opening game of day 2of the Oceania Football confederations champions’ league.
Jack Wetney played a perfect through ball for Francois Sakama who blasted the ball past Dragon goal keeper Mikael Roche.
Both teams mounted attacks but couldn’t execute their chances in the final third.
AS dragon should have been awarded a penalty when Amicale keeper fouled Chikau Mansale fouled their striker in the penalty box but referee Gerald Oiaka waved away appeals.
AS dragon coach Ludovic Graugnard said that they found scoring difficult because Amicale defended very deep after getting the first goal.
“The team is very disappointed with the loss and we will work on the boys psychologically to prepare them for the next match which is very important, ” said Graugnard.
“We don’t want to go home early and the next two games are crucial to our campaign.”
