Postcard from London
P.S. We really miss the creature comforts!
Nearly every Fijian in the UK is asked, “What do you miss about home?” Top of my list is “The weather”. I know that I am not the only one who misses the 30-degree plus heat, the I-want-to-rip-my-clothes-off-now-because-it-is-so-sticky humidity, and even the non-stop Suva rain. As I write this article, the temperature in London is nine degrees, I had to put on six layers of clothes before I left the house this morning, and the sky is a grey colour that tells me, “It ain’t going to get warm anytime soon, Baby!” (I promptly stick two fingers up at the smirking atmosphere!)
