7s team named for Glasgow and London

7s team named for Glasgow and London


The coach of the Vodafone Fiji Sevens team, Ben Ryan, announced the 12-member team for the last leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series today (Thursday April 14).

Ten of the players have been retained for the last leg of the IRB World Sevens Series in Glasgow and London with two players – Semi Kunatani and Viliame Mata – being recalled into the squad after they missed out in the Japan and Hong Kong 7s tournaments.

Fiji is currently 24 points behind leaders New Zealand in the World Series standings, while Osea Kolinisau retains the captaincy role.

Fiji has won two tournaments this season, the 2013 Dubai Sevens and more recently the 2014 Japan Sevens.

 Fiji is pooled along with Wales, Argentina and Kenya in the Glasgow 7s tournament which is set for May 3-4 at Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow.

Fiji Sevens squad: Osea Kolinisau (Captain), Apisai Domolailai, Benito Masilevu, Donasio Ratubuli, Emosi Mulevoro, Leo Naikasau, Pio Tuwai, Samisoni Viriviri, Semi Kunatani, Vatemo Ravouvou, Viliame Mata, Waisea Nacuqu.

Non-travelling reserves: Samu Saqiwa, Jasa Veremalua, Jona Tuitoga, Joeli Lutumailagi, and Ropate Labalaba.
