Members of the Fiji Electoral Commission have presented their final report on the 2014 General Election, that was held on 17 September, to the Attorney-General and Minister of Finance Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum this afternoon.
The report was handed to Mr Sayed-Khaiyum by one of the commissioners, Father David Arms, who said commission chair Chen Bunn Young was away overseas and could not do so in person.
Members of the commission earlier handed over a copy of the same report to the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
The handover comes exactly three months to the day the election was held.
Also present at the handover of the report were commissioners Alisi Daurewa and Jenny Seeto and Supervisor of Elections.
In receiving the report, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum thanked the commissioners for their hard work and said he would look into the report.
Meanwhile, the Multinational Observer Group has yet to hand in its detailed report on the conduct of the election.
At the end of the one-day poll in September and during counting to determine who would get a seat in the new Parliament, the M.O.G said then the election was on track to broadly represent the will of the Fijian people.
