The President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, has arrived in Fiji for a three-day State visit.
On arrival this evening at Nadi International Airport, the Chinese President was accorded a Guard of Honour mounted by members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. He was received by senior Fijian government officials, including Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
The Chinese head of state is accompanied by the First Lady, Madame Peng Liyuan, senior
government officials and support staff.
During his visit, President Xi will hold talks with the Fijian President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and with senior Fijian government officials led by Prime Minister Bainimarama.
Pacific island leaders as well as senior officials are in the country to hold bilateral talks with the Chinese President.
