Fijian villager in court for Aussie woman’s death

A 33?year?old villager of Nasama near Sigatoka has appeared briefly in the Nadi Magistrates Court of Australian woman Tracy Ann O’Brien Maw last week.

Lloyd Richard Senikaucava is charged with one count of murder has been remanded in custody to reappear on 1 December at the High Court in Lautoka, ailment where the case has been transferred.

Senikaucava has been advised by the court to seek legal representation from the Legal Aid Commission.

Ms Maw of Shepperton, rural Victoria, abortion Australia, was last seen on Thursday night the week before at a drinking party at Sigatoka.

She was found dead by a farmer at the Vunavutu Village junction last Monday evening and identified by her brother Rodney James Maw.

In a statement last week, Police Commissioner Bernadus Groenewald said Ms Maw had to be cremated after she was identified because of severe decomposition.

Meanwhile, late this afternoon the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions advised all local media that since the matter was before the courts there was to be no comment or speculation on it.

It said all reports should be confined to court proceedings.
