THE Fiji 7s team can improve in the next HSBC 7s in Sydney if they unite and stop playing as an individual but play as a team.
These sentiments were echoed by the 7s maestro Waisale Serevi during an interview with MaiLife at the Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s 2018 held at Lawaqa Park today.
“The boys can play well if they are all there in spirit and be consistent in their game,” Serevi said.
Serevi added the coach is doing a great job and people should understand that different coaches come with different ideas and different training method.
“I watched the boys in the Dubai 7s and I realize that there were many mistakes committed and mistakes become costly for the team.”
“If one player commits a mistake on the field, it cost the team a lot, because they have to recover possession making everyone in the team tired.”
Serevi said players have to realize that they need to play well, all day everyday.
Sharing his views on the Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s 2018, the king of 7s said the level of competition displayed is of a great standard.
“I am witnessing a lot of individually skills and talent on display during this tournament,” he said.
“I think if there is anywhere coaches need to focus on, they need to focus on the standard of rugby displayed at this level during this tournament.”
