A 19-year-old man is believed to be the countrys latest drowning victim.
The victim from Navuso Village, Naitasiri is believed to have jumped into the Waila Creek and failed to surface. He had accompanied two others to the Waila Pumping Station where they were fishing at about 6pm yesterday.
After he failed to surface a search was conducted, however with negative results. The search continues today.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old farmer who went missing in the flooded Vorovoro River last Saturday has been found dead.
The search team retrieved the dead farmer from the Vorovoro River at 5pm yesterday.
The current drowning toll stands at 41 compared to 44 for the same period last year.
