BOYS blue ribbon winner Shane Tuvusa of Natabua High School was an emotional wreck last night after winning the Senior Boys 100 metres final.
The Natalacake Villager from Ba, said some may say he is the underdog but he was determined to win.
“While at the starting block, I was confident I would win the event and I told myself I can do this,” Tuvusa said.
With the third best time in the heats, Tuvusa said he wanted to improve his time and he did more than that in the final.
“I also knew I wasn’t the fastest man in the race, but I wanted to improve my time and I actually won the race.”
“I dedicate this win to the school. It’s been a long time since Natabua won the Blue Ribbon and I want to thank the teachers and my coaches for their sacrifice and hardwork.”
