Police are investigating two fires, one at Nausori and the other at Labasa, in the space of three-and-a-half hours one of them causing damage estimated at $200,000.
A root crop processing factory was completely destroyed in a fire at 1.30am today at River Road, Vunimono.
The factory was owned by a 49-year-old businessman of Vuci Road, Nausori, and had not been in operation for the past four months.
The cause of fire is not known at this stage.
Meanwhile, in another incident reported yesterday, a three-bedroom house belonging to a 48-year-old woman of Namara Tiri, Labasa was completely destroyed in a fire last night.
The incident occurred at about 10pm when the victim was asleep in her room. Her son, who was also living with her, was at a friends house when the incident occurred.
Investigations are continuing.
