VODAFONE FLYING FIJIANS TRAIN IN MELBOURNE
THE Vodafone Flying Fijians had two tough training sessions today out on the field in the morning and in the gym later in the afternoon.
The weather temperature dropped from 17 degrees to 9 degrees today with a wind speed of 6km per hour.
But just as the Fijian hospitality is always bright and sunny so were the spirits of the players when they took to the field at Xavier College.
In the words of Vodafone Flying Fijians Captain, Akapusi Qera that there should be no excuse, the players were more focused with a lot of energy and responded well to the tough training schedule that was set out for them.
Team morale has been high in camp and the senior players have been assisting the new boys with their understanding of the game plan and other aspects leading up to this Saturday.
Rio Olympics Gold Medalist Leone Nakarawa says that in his experience, 7s is more different from 15s as there is less space to play but more pressure playing a top level rugby team like the Wallabies. He added that with their high intensity level of training, all the players will be expected to play at the same level whether they are overseas or local based.
The team have a day off tomorrow and will continue with their mental and physical preparation on Thursday.
